Married to the former Sheryl Logue, Blake Smith owns and operates Smith Funeral Home. Blake graduated in 1994 from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, Georgia. He has served on many state boards in the funeral industry. He is very active in the community where he was Past President of the Rotary Club in Blackshear, past President of the Waycross College Board of Trustees, and past President of the Waycross YMCA. He is also very active in coaching youth sports in Pierce County. He is a member of First Baptist Church in Blackshear. He has 2 sons, Stetson and Spencer Smith, a step-daughter Lauren LeCompte, and a step-son Mason Logue.

Smith Funeral Home has a committed staff who uphold the values and goals of our business. We are very fortunate to have the type of funeral directors and assistants that we have working for our funeral home. Our staff is very committed not only to the work we perform at the funeral home, but they are also committed to the betterment of our community.

Phil Campbell

Phil Campbell has lived in Blackshear for most of his life along with his wife Latrelle Walker Campbell. He has been a Licensed Funeral Director since 1972 and has been employed with the funeral home since 1989. Phil and his wife attend First Baptist Church of Blackshear.



Milton Harper

Milton Harper is a longtime resident of Pierce County (Hacklebarney Community) along with his wife Dottie Riggins Harper. He retired as the Pierce County Postmaster. Milton serves as the Pierce County Coroner and is active in the community. He is a longtime active member of First Baptist Church of Blackshear where he serves as a deacon and on several other committees. Milton has served as a Funeral Director's Assistant for several years at the funeral home.



J. W. Dixon

J. W. Dixon is a lifetime resident of Pierce County (Mershon) along with his wife Sharon Thornton Dixon. He is a retired Shipping Clerk from Gilman Paper Co. in St. Mary's. J. W. and his family are members of First Baptist Church of Blackshear where he serves as an usher and also serves as the coordinator of the Region 8 Disaster Relief for the Piedmont Southern Baptist Association. He is also an ordained Deacon. J. W. has served as a Funeral Director's Assistant for several years at the funeral home.



Dub Dean

Dub Dean is a lifetime resident of Blackshear. He is married to Shelby McKnight Dean . Dub retired as Manager of Suburban Propane Company in Blackshear. He attends the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Blackshear. Dub has been a Funeral Director's Assistant for several years at the funeral home.


Johnny Dean
Johnny Dean is a lifelong resident of Blackshear, and is married to Carol Kicklighter Dean. Johnny is retired from Gilman's Paper Mill in Blackshear. He is an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and serves on several committees. Johnny is a Funeral Director's Assistant for the funeral home.
Allen Smith
Allen Smith is a lifelong resident of Pierce County and is married to Phyllis Thornton Smith. Allen is an active member of New Lacy Church of God. He serves as an Apprentice Funeral Director and Embalmer.
Amy King Thorne
Amy serves as the secretary and a funeral assistant at the funeral home. Amy is the daughter of Sheriff Richard and Pat King. She is married to Justin Thorne and they live in Patterson. She is an active member of Offerman Church of God.
